1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of TV Watch Time ("the Service"), operated by TV Watch Time ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.

2. Description of the Service

TV Watch Time is a TV and movie tracking application that lets users log the content they watch, view statistics, rate content, and participate in a community through comments and images. The Service is currently offered as beta software and may change, break, or be discontinued at any time.

3. Account Registration and Security

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date.
You are responsible for safeguarding your password and for all activity under your account.
You must notify us promptly of any unauthorized use of your account.
One person may not create accounts for others without their consent, and may not impersonate another person.

4. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree not to use the Service to:

Harass, threaten, or intimidate any person.
Post hate speech or content that promotes discrimination based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or nationality.
Share illegal content, or content that depicts or encourages harm to minors.
Spam, flood, or otherwise disrupt the community with repetitive or unwanted content.
Impersonate another person, brand, or entity.
Attempt to access, alter, or destroy data that does not belong to you, or to circumvent the Service's security.
Use bots, scrapers, or automated tools to overload or abuse the Service.

5. User Content

"User Content" means any comments, ratings, images, and other material you post to the Service. You are solely responsible for your User Content and for ensuring you have the rights to share it.

All User Content is subject to moderation. Comment images are processed by automated moderation (OpenAI) before publication, and all content may be reviewed manually by administrators.

6. Content Moderation

Automated rejection: images that are flagged by automated moderation as inappropriate are rejected before they are published.
Manual review: administrators may review, edit visibility of, or remove any content that violates these Terms.
Account suspension: repeated or serious violations may result in temporary or permanent suspension of your account.

We do not pre-screen all content, but we reserve the right to remove anything we believe violates these Terms or the law, at our sole discretion.

7. Intellectual Property

You retain all rights to the User Content you create. By posting content to the Service, you grant TV Watch Time a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, display, and process that content for the purpose of operating the Service.

TV and movie metadata (titles, posters, descriptions) displayed in the Service is provided by third parties (such as TMDb and TVmaze) and remains the property of its respective owners. TV Watch Time, the TV Watch Time name, logo, and software are the property of TV Watch Time.

8. Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided to you "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Because the Service is beta software, it may contain bugs, errors, or data loss. To the maximum extent permitted by law, TV Watch Time shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising from your use of the Service.

9. Service Availability

We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service, or any part of it, at any time and without notice. We are not liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuance of the Service.

10. Account Termination

By you: you may delete your account at any time via DELETE /me, which removes your account and associated data.
By us: we may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, or for any other reason at our discretion, including to protect the Service or other users.

11. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of Canada, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved exclusively in the courts located in Canada.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, for material changes, notify you in the app or by email. Your continued use of the Service after the revised Terms take effect constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
